Dexter Patches

You will need to find out what revision you are at in Dexter before you do upgrades. You can easily find this out by going into Dexter, clicking on the skeleton key along the top of the screen and then jotting down the revision number that appears there, i.e., 3.22.03, 3.23.00.

Once you know what revision you are at, follow the guidance given in the table below to see which file, or files, you will need to download and unzip. Once you have all of the files you might need to do a revision to the newest version, you will need to unzip each of them in the order they appear in the table below.

3.28.01 fixed the UPS discounting of residential ground since UPS discounts residential ground differently from the commercial ground rates.

HOW TO USE THIS TABLE: Compare the [Instructions] Column against the revision you are presently at in Dexter to see if your revision is older than what is listed there. If your revision is older, you will need to download and unzip the adjacent file. You should move down through each row in the table and download all of the files that your present revision is older than. If your revision is old, you may have to download and unzip all of the files.

*** Data files may require that you check your data within Dexter after unzipping the specific data file to see if you need to make adjustment to your markups, special service fees, etc. See the listing below for guidance on this.

dx3.24.00: You will need to check all of your price factors, especially if you have set markups on these as all of the price factor markup tables were replaced due to the large number of changes needed. Also, check your quick and extensive markups to make sure they are still correct. We had to replace the UPS extensive markup tables for international due to the new service Worldwide Saver that has been introduced by UPS. 'Services Offered' and 'Quick Markups' will have to be checked as well for UPS as these tables were also replaced. If you want to unzip this revision early so that you can get your business ready for the first business day after January 1, 2007, you will need to manually go to Specific Options, Markups, and manually have Dexter reset the rate schedules by selecting and choosing the rate schedules you use; otherwise, you will get 'no current record' errors. This is due to all of the changes that have taken place within this revision.
dx3.26.00: You will need to check all of your postal settings. Everything postal has been replaced due to the extraordinary changes that have been made.
dx3.28.01: You will need to reset your UPS domestic rates within the extensive markup area. Since we had to add new tables to separate out the residential ground from commercial ground, this was necessary. You should be able to use Dexter's export and import tool to backup your extensive markups for UPS and then restore after doing the update.

If one or more of your database files within Dexter are defective, you can download and unzip these files into a temp area where you can experiment with database replacement.
