The Amazing Simon Project Helper
The Simon Project Helper will greet you upon opening Simon each day. It can
also be opened, if you close it, by clicking on the first icon from
the left at the top of the Simon screen (the Mr. Potatohead button). The Simon Project Helper is simply a menu that will guide you to some of the more complex operations in Simon. Most operations that pertain to the exchange of capital are listed in the Simon Project Helper, as are many less important operations too. Most operations that require the exchange of capital are handled using step-by-step operations that make what might be considered complicated, a breeze. In order to use the Simon Project Helper, you should first choose an operation type in the box at the top of the Simon Project Helper form (Step One). This will refine the list of operations down to just those pertinent to the operation type you have chosen. Then double click on an operation from the box entitled 'Step Two: Choose an Operation' to open that operation. As illustrated above, if you double click on the 'Change Front-Door Access' item in the list, a window will appear like the one shown below. Of course, the list of boxholders will be different, but you understand that. ![]() This is a step-by-step operation. You can tell that it is a step-by-step operation by the title in the title bar of the window that will appear when double clicking on a listed item. In this case it reads: Change Front-Door Access--Step 1: Who Needs Changing? This first step allows you to pick the client from the list so that you can change their front-door access situation. So, you would choose the client from the list and then click on the Next Screen >>> button. Do note that if you have an enormous number of clients and this list is excessively long, you can refine the list using the handy tools in the blue area. It is fairly common in Simon that the first screen of a step-by-step operation will start by asking who the client is. So, you will see a screen similar to this quite often. ![]() As an aside, if you are using the handy package entry tools in Simon, Simon will warn you, when you select a client from the list, that they have a package in the backroom that needs to be retrieved. You can either ignore this warning by clicking on the NO button, or you can view the package information by clicking on the YES button. Anyway, you can see how the Simon Project Helper works. You can find out more about the other things that we brushed upon here in some of the other web listings we have. The web site is an ongoing process that might take some time, but we do plan to make additions here when we can. There is so much to do and so little time to do it in. Hope this helps! |
